Excel 2013/2016

In Excel 2013 and 2016 on Windows and Excel 2016 for Mac from version 16.9, a stronger encryption algorithm is used for the sheet and workbook structure passwords so previous brute force attacks are too slow to remove these passwords.

Excel Password Remover removes the password protection applied by the “Protect sheet” and “Protect workbook” commands in Excel (i.e. enables you to edit the workbook even if you have forgotten your password). NB! This program can’t remove file protection, i.e. if you are asked for a password when opening your workbook, this program won’t help you (Possible solution here).

The new Excel Password Remover PRO for 2013/2016 on Windows and the latest Mac version will make a new workbook which is called “<WorkbookName>_unprotected.xl??“. For example, if  you have a workbook named “MyWorkbook.xlsx“, a new workbook named “MyWorkbook_unprotected.xlsx” will be saved in the same folder as the original, where all sheet and workbook structure protection is removed. The original workbook will not be modified.

System requirements:
Windows: Windows 7 or higher with Excel 2007 or higher (tested Windows 7/8/10 and Excel 2007/2010/2013/2016). Password removal is instant, the only time consumed is writing temporary files and making the new unprotected workbook (some seconds for a large workbook).
Mac: Excel 2016 version 16.9 or higher.
