VBA Password Reset is an Excel add-in that resets the VBA project password to “a”. Works for Excel, Word and Powerpoint documents. Office 2007 or higher (2007/2010/2013/2016/2019/365). It makes an identical copy of the protected file, but sets a known password instead of an unknown one. It works almost instantly (only time consumed is writing temporary files and making the new copy), not depending on password length or complexity.

It works on Office 2007-> file formats. If your file is in older format, just save the file in the new Office format first (.xlsm, .xlam, .docm, .dotm, .pptm, .ppam)

Requires Excel 2007 or higher on Windows 7 or higher (does not work on Windows XP or Vista) or Excel for Mac version 16.9 or higher.

When you run the “Reset VBA password – a” command, a file dialog appears where you can select the file you want to unprotect. A copy of your file is created at the same location as the original, with “_VBA_password_a” added to the file name. The new file is opened in Excel/Word/Powerpoint.
